BOSTON, January 28, 2010 – TA Associates, a leading growth private equity firm, today announced global promotions of seven staff members, effective January 1, 2010.

Jennifer M. Mulloy was promoted to Managing Director from Director. She serves in TA’s Menlo Park office, focusing on investments in healthcare, business services and consumer companies. Ms. Mulloy led TA’s investments in Alere Medical and One Call Medical, and had a lead role in the firm’s investments in Cypress Pharmaceutical, Twin Med and Youth and Family Centered Services (YFCS). She is a member of the Board of Directors of Cypress, Twin Med and YFCS, and was formerly a Director of Alere Medical and One Call Medical, and a Board Observer at National Imaging Associates. Ms. Mulloy received an AB, with Honors, in Economics from Stanford University, and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
M. Roy Burns was promoted to Principal from Senior Vice President. He serves in TA’s Boston office, focusing on investments in financial services, business services and other growth services companies. Mr. Burns led TA’s investment in Dealer Tire and played a significant role in the firm’s investments in First Eagle Investment Management, K2 Advisors and Numeric Investors. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Dealer Tire and K2 Advisors, and is a Board Observer at First Eagle Investment Management. Mr. Burns received a BS in Business Administration, with Special Attainments in Commerce, from Washington and Lee University, and an MBA as an Arjay Miller Scholar from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
Mark H. Carter was promoted to Principal from Senior Vice President. He serves in TA’s Boston office, focusing on investments in the healthcare, business services and retail sectors. Mr. Carter has led or been actively involved in several TA investments, including QA Master Holdings and Quotient Bioscience Group. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Quotient Bioscience Group and was formerly a Director of QA Master Holdings. Mr. Carter received a BE, magna cum laude, in Mechanical Engineering from Vanderbilt University, and an MBA from Columbia Business School.
Hythem T. El-Nazer was promoted to Principal from Senior Vice President. He serves in TA’s Boston office, focusing on investments in communications, media and technology companies. Mr. El-Nazer led TA’s investments in Radialpoint and TEOCO Corporation, and played a significant role in the firm’s investments in Idea Cellular, MetroPCS Communications and Weather Investments S.p.A. He is a member of the Board of Directors of eSecLending, Radialpoint and TEOCO, and is a Board Observer at Weather Investments. Mr. El-Nazer received an AB in Economics from Brown University, and an MBA from Columbia Business School.
William D. Christ was promoted to Senior Vice President from Vice President. He serves in TA’s Boston office, focusing on investments in business services, education and consumer services and products companies. Mr. Christ had a lead role in TA’s investment in Vatterott Educational Centers. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Microban International and Vatterott. Mr. Christ received a BS, summa cum laude, with Special Attainments, Phi Beta Kappa, in Business Administration from Washington and Lee University, and an MBA, Edward Tuck Scholar with High Distinction, from The Amos Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College.
J. Morgan Seigler was promoted to Senior Vice President at TA Associates Ltd. from Vice President. He serves in the London office of TA Associates Ltd., focusing on investments in growth companies in Europe. Mr. Seigler played a significant role in TA’s investment in AVG Technologies. He serves on the Board of Directors of AVG and M and M Direct. Mr. Seigler received a BA in Economics from Yale University, and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
Naveen Wadhera heads the Indian operations and was appointed as Director of TA Associates Advisory Pvt. Ltd., focusing on investments in growth companies in India and other emerging markets. Mr. Wadhera was instrumental in providing advice with respect to TA’s recent investment in Micromax Informatics Limited. Previously, while with TA Associates in Boston and London, he played a significant role in the firm’s investments in Drive Assist, GlobeOp Financial Services, ION Trading and SmartStream Technologies. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Micromax. Mr. Wadhera received a BSc in Systems Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania, and an MBA from the Wharton School of Finance.
